Turkish Airlines fleet arrives at new Istanbul air

Turkish Airlines aircraft have been arriving at the carrier's new Istanbul airport base as operations transfer from Ataturk.

The operator is in the middle of a 45h transition to the new airport that started at 00:00 on 5 April and is due to end at 21:00. As part of that process, its Ataturk-based fleet has been moved to the new facility via ferry flights.

The transition included a 12h gap between the final passenger flight from Ataturk at 02:00 and the first from the new airport at 14:00 local time today.

Data from Cirium's FlightStats shows Turkish Airlines flight TK2154 to Ankara departed from the new airport at 14:03, signalling the end of that pause in passenger flights.
