Air India Cargo adds Unisys Digistics modules

Indian flag carrier Air India is to use Unisys’ Digistics integrated logistics software suite to help improve data quality, cash flow and transparency regarding shipment status.

The airline has used the Digistics cloud-based logistics management solution for some time. This new contract will add three more modules on a software-as-a-service basis to streamline freight management and improve operational efficiencies.

Digi-Accounting is a real-time revenue accounting and reconciliation solution designed specifically for air cargo and ground handling operations.

Digi-Mobile allows cargo staff to process shipments using digital signatures and barcodes via a smart phone, with real-time updates, facilitating faster, more secure operations.

Finally, Digi-Analytics is an online managed service that provides insights into cargo patterns and anomalies.

Unisys will also provide a postal mail and parcel shipment scanning and tracking solution.
