To date, only airlines owned by these countries or their nationals are able to provide flights from these countries to China under bilateral agreements.

"We are interested in making Europe and Asia better connected and making it easier for goods, services and people between Europe and China to flow," said EU member Violetta Burz, who is in charge of transportation.

The Brussels authorities expect that in the first eight years after the signing of the agreement, the two sides will receive an economic benefit of 3.5 billion euros (1 euro equivalent to 7.71 yuan - this net note) and create 11,000 jobs.
