In 2018, the construction of Shanghai International Shipping Center continued to advance, the air transportation service capacity continued to improve, and the level of passenger and cargo services continued to improve. The port transportation support capacity and collection and distribution mode have been continuously optimized, and the service system has been continuously improved. Shanghai actively promoted the development of higher quality integration in the Yangtze River Delta, further improved the regional cooperation mechanism, accelerated the promotion of transportation interconnection, and continued to optimize the comprehensive transportation mode of the Yangtze River Delta. The level of public transportation that is compatible with Shanghai's construction of an international metropolis continues to increase.
By the end of 2018, Shanghai has eliminated 1 inter-provincial “broken road” project, started 8 projects, and carried out 6 joint enforcement actions of provincial border super-station, adding adjacent bus routes between Qingpu and Jiangsu Kunshan, Qingpu and Zhejiang Jiashan. The Yangtze River Delta traffic interconnection is progressing steadily. The daily average passenger volume of Shanghai and Yangtze River Delta railways reached 420,000, an increase of 6% year-on-year; the daily average passenger flow of Hongqiao Hub reached 1.136 million passengers, and the pressure on passenger flow distribution increased.
